An AED, or automated external defibrillator, is an electronic device that provides shocks to the heart. These devices are approved by the FDA. It is helpful to register your AED to receive safety alerts and recall notices. Check your device's manufacturer's website for updates on its safety and performance. Lastly, enroll in a community education class to learn how to use an AED. Community education classes are available from organizations such as the American Red Cross. The company developed the first portable defibrillator, the ZOLL AED Pro.

It later expanded into the manufacture and distribution of emergency defibrillators. In 2016, the company was acquired by Stryker Corporation and became part of the Emergency Care division. It has been the industry's leader in defibrillation technology. Its products are widely used around the world. To date, over half a million AED units have been deployed around the world.

The American Heart Association reports that more than 350,000 people will experience cardiac arrest outside of hospitals in the United States this year. Nearly ninety percent of these cases will result in death. The only way to revive someone after a cardiac arrest is with an AED. This portable electronic medical device can deliver a life-saving shock to the heart. The Zoll AED Plus Automated External Defibrillator - Semi Automatic device uses voice prompts, text messages, and lights to trigger the shock.

The goal of automated external defibrillators is to shock the heart with a high-voltage electrical current to reverse a life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia. These devices have built-in computers that analyze the heart rhythm of the patient and determine when defibrillation is necessary. Audible and visual prompts guide the user through the process. AED defibrillators can be helpful in emergencies where the victim has no way to call 911.

Although the Lifeline(TM) AUTO AED has better basic, intermediate, and advanced level performance than its predecessor, the Samaritan PAD defibrillator is still the better choice in the price range. These two devices are marketed under two new brands, Heartsine and Defibtech. Both Heartsine and Defibtech have a good reputation for reliability and performance.

The AEDS is a life-saving device for public use. It is a portable system that uses a battery to deliver an electric shock. Unlike CPR, an AED is easy to operate and can be carried anywhere. The pads are attached to the device and are easy to use. Although CPR training is necessary for the proper use of an AED, anyone with basic CPR training can connect an AED and deliver a shock.  Check out this post that has expounded on the topic:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automated_external_defibrillator.
